The Grass Isn't Always Greener

Way too many times I’ve seen athletes bounce from team to team thinking the next spot is going to solve all their problems.

And yeah, sometimes it works out. But more often than not, they end up in the same exact situation—just somewhere new.

Parents, don’t fall for the hype. Don’t make a move just because someone told you it’ll be better, or because of how things look on Instagram.

This whole thing is chess. Every move matters.

Before switching schools or teams:

• Actually talk to the coaches and players.

• Get a feel for how they really operate.

• Don’t go off hearsay or highlight tapes.

If it’s truly a better fit, go for it. But don’t assume it will be just because someone painted a pretty picture for you.
