Why Your Athlete Needs a Summer Routine

Kids need structure. Everyone does. And with summer coming up, there’s about to be a lot of free time.

That can be a good thing—or a waste of time. It depends on what they do with it.

If your kid isn’t the type to stick to a routine on their own, help guide them. Sit down and build one together. It doesn’t need to be perfect. The goal is to make sure they stay consistent with things that matter: training, recovery, nutrition, sleep, etc.

Remind them where they fell short last season. Whether it was conditioning, strength, speed, or something else—this is the time to address it.

The worst thing you can do is let them drift through the day with no plan. That’s how progress stalls. Summer should be a time to level up—not fall behind.

Help them stay locked in now, so they’re ready when the next season comes around.
